Harold S. Sweet was a well known aeronautical and civil engineer. A native of Worland, Wyoming, Sweet earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Wyoming in 1939 and earned his Ph.D in Civil Engineering from Purdue University in 1948. From 1945 to 1948, he was Assistant Professor of Highway Engineering at Purdue University. From 1948 to 1953, he was Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Wyoming.
